Comparison of the Source–Sink Characteristics between Main Season and Ratooning in Rice (Oryza sativa L.)

Objectives: In order to find out the differences in source–sink characteristics of ratooning rice and main season approaches increase grain yield rice, a sowing-by-stage method was adopted synchronize with induce their key growth stages under similar environmental conditions. The four varieties ecological conditions were examined 2019 2020. Results: results were: (1) leaf area index (LAI) ranged from 0.54 1.44, while that LAI 4.67–7.71. much smaller than rice; former only approximately 1/7–1/5 latter. (2) photosynthesis (Pn) net assimilation rate (NAR) significantly higher those before milking–maturing stages. Still, at late maturing stage, no definite tendency existed. (3) Ratooning transported 14C-assimilate flag panicle an estimated 81.43%, 63.95%. stem’s top first second internodes have been observed be major location for rice. (4) 6029–7929 kg ha−1 2363–3297 ha−1. sink capacity 2.4–3.6 times catalase activity rachis branches (5) grain/leaf (sink/source) ratio ratoon 1.69–2.46 Conclusions: yields determined by interaction source mainly increased enhancing capacity.
